Provincial Fuel Subsidy Programs: Registration is Key
As petrol prices soar past Rs458 per litre amid the global fuel crisis, provincial governments have launched targeted subsidy programs to provide relief to motorcyclists. However, there is one critical requirement across all schemes: your motorcycle must be registered in your own name.
📍 Sindh: Direct Cash Transfer of Rs2,000

- Only registered motorcycles qualify; unregistered bikes are excluded
How to Apply:
The Excise and Taxation Department has introduced an online verification and registration system. Applicants must enter their CNIC and bank account (IBAN) details to receive automated confirmation.

💡 What If Your Motorcycle Isn’t Registered in Your Name?
All three provinces have taken steps to help citizens correct ownership:
- Sindh: Motorcycle transfer fee abolished; citizens can transfer ownership for free to qualify
- Punjab: Registration and transfer fees waived
- KP: Verification from both buyer and seller required for ownership transfer applications
⏰ Deadline to Apply
Registration is open now. Sindh officials confirm that after verification, subsidy payments are expected to begin between April 15 and 20. The programs are initially implemented as one-month trials, with possible extension based on success and transparency.
For millions of Pakistanis who rely on motorcycles for daily commuting, ensuring your vehicle is properly registered in your name is the first step to accessing this critical relief.
