ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister and PML Nawaz leader Nawaz Sharif said that he did not want to take revenge and his only mission was to put Pakistan on the path of growth and prosperity once again.

He asserted, “We will turn this country into heaven again.”

He said that when he was Prime Minister, all the consumer items were available at affordable prices in comparison with today.

He said that the dollar was available at 104 rupees, the petrol rate stood at 64 rupees per liter while ‘Roti’ was available at only four rupees. PMLN chief stated this while addressing a mammoth rally of the party at Minare Pakistan in Lahore on Saturday night.

Sharif also compared the electricity bill of Nasrullah Khan which was Rs 1300 in May 2016 and it has expanded to Rs 15,000 in 2022 (during the PTI regime). He pointed out that the electricity hikes were initiated by the PTI government and Shehbaz Sharif was not responsible for this.

He said that during his tenure, Pakistan was on the path to joining the G20 Group, but he was ousted as Premier. It ultimately led to the economic disaster in the country, he added.

Sharif also talked about his mega development projects such as Motorways, Lawari Tunnel, and Gwadar Motorway.

PMLN leader also mentioned that his daughter Maryam Nawaz was arrested in front of him when she came to see him in jail.

Nawaz Sharif said that the country has been pushed towards economic disaster that will be reversed. Shehbaz Sharif, his sons, Hanif Abbasi, Rana Sanaullah and some other leaders of his party were thrown into jails.

Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif, the President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and a former prime minister expressed deep admiration for Nawaz Sharif, characterizing him as a dedicated leader who was thrice removed from the premiership whenever he attempted to transform the fate of the people.

He made these remarks during a rally organized by the PML-N to warmly welcome Nawaz Sharif back to Pakistan following his four-year self-imposed exile.

Shehbaz Sharif marveled at the enormity of the gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan, describing it as unprecedented in his experience.

He went on to emphasize that Nawaz Sharif, often regarded as the mastermind behind Pakistan, faced removal from power each time he endeavored to alter the nation’s destiny.

Furthermore, Shehbaz Sharif asserted that under Nawaz Sharif’s leadership, incidents like those of May 9 would have been inconceivable, not to mention the breaking of a single pot.

He emphasized Nawaz Sharif’s resilience and patience in the face of adversity, stating that his return to Pakistan was intended to soothe the nation’s wounds.
