Oil tankers suspend oil supply to Islamabad, Pindi and Peshawar airports to protest against road closure

ISLAMABAD: The Oil Tanker Contractors Association today suspended oil supplies to the airports in Islamabad, Pindi and Peshawar. The decision is the outcome of road closure from Islamabad to Kahota.

Pakistani pilgrims wait in line as they prepare to board a Pakistan International Airlines’ special Haj pilgrimage flight bound for Saudi Arabia.

“From today, supplies to Gilgit-Baltistan, Jammu and Islamabad and Peshawar airports will be stopped, the association said on Monday.

Oil supply to Islamabad and Rawalpindi airports have also been stopped.

According to the Association, the local authorities have closed the road for the last four days causing problems for oil tankers.

The association said, “They are holding negotiations with the district authorities to resolve the dispute.”
