A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) pilot stationed at M.M. Alam Airbase in Mianwali has filed a formal complaint with the Mianwali Saddar Police, alleging blackmail and harassment by a woman after he rejected her marriage proposal. The case has been registered as FIR No. 232/25, sparking interest across media and legal circles.
Fake Identity and Online Contact Spark Controversy
According to a report published by Dawn, the pilot first came into contact with the woman on social media, where she introduced herself as “Rafia” from Multan. During their conversations, she reportedly told him she was facing a troubled personal life and expressed interest in marrying him.
Trusting her story, the pilot agreed to meet her in person. The meeting took place on April 24, 2025, in Multan. However, during this meeting, the truth was allegedly revealed — her actual name was “A,” and she was not from Multan, but from Chah Hameedwala, Gadayi Shumali, Tehsil Dera Ghazi Khan.
The woman had reportedly been using a fake social media identity to communicate with the pilot, raising red flags about her true intentions.
Pilot Alleges Threats and Harassment After Refusing Proposal
In his complaint, the pilot claimed that after he refused her marriage proposal, the woman’s behavior changed dramatically. He alleged that she began making frequent threatening phone calls, demanding that he marry her or face “serious consequences.”
The threats, according to the FIR, included a false rape allegation. The pilot claims the woman threatened to falsely implicate him in a fabricated rape case if he did not agree to marry her. He also stated that this behavior continued over several days and severely affected his mental peace and professional life.
FIR Registered Under Multiple Sections of Law
The First Information Report (FIR) has been filed under several serious sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC):
- Section 419 – Impersonation
- Section 420 – Cheating and dishonesty
- Section 500 – Defamation
- Section 506 – Criminal intimidation
- Section 211 – False accusation
In addition, Section 25-D of the Telegraph Act 1985 has also been invoked, which deals with causing annoyance via telephone or electronic communication.
These charges collectively point to allegations of fraud, blackmail, false representation, and criminal intimidation.
Past Allegations Surface: Previous 2021 Case in Multan
In a further shocking development, the pilot also alleged that the woman is a repeat offender. He claimed she was previously involved in a false rape case filed in 2021 at the Women Police Station in Multan under Section 376 (rape) of the PPC. He described the case as fabricated, suggesting a pattern of blackmail involving similar accusations.
The pilot referenced this past case to highlight that the woman had a history of using serious allegations to target men for personal gain or coercion.
Call for Police Action to Prevent Further Harassment
The pilot has formally requested that police take immediate action to prevent the woman from continuing her alleged threats and harassment. He emphasized the need for legal protection and cited concerns about reputation damage, mental distress, and misuse of legal provisions meant for genuine victims.
Govt May Reduce Petrol, Diesel Prices in Next Review
The case is currently under investigation, and the authorities are said to be reviewing the pilot’s claims and the evidence of phone calls, social media interaction, and meeting records.
Rising Concerns Over Online Identity Scams and Legal Misuse
This case underscores growing concerns in Pakistan about the misuse of social media, fake identities, and false legal accusations. Experts have repeatedly highlighted the need for stricter digital verification and awareness among youth who engage in online communication.
Legal analysts also point out the delicate balance between protecting genuine victims of abuse and preventing the misuse of laws for personal vendettas or blackmail. The case also brings attention to the pressures faced by armed forces personnel, who are often targeted due to their high-profile status.
Conclusion: Investigation Underway, Public Reaction Mixed
As the investigation unfolds, public reactions remain divided. Some sympathize with the PAF officer for allegedly being manipulated and harassed, while others caution against rushing to judgment until all facts are verified.
If proven true, the case could lead to strict legal consequences for the accused and set a precedent against the misuse of legal systems and digital platforms.
The Mianwali Saddar Police have not yet issued a formal statement, but the case is expected to proceed swiftly given its sensitive nature and the involvement of a serving military officer.
