Islamabad, June 20, 2025: Pakistani television icon Ayesha Khan was discovered dead in her residence located in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area on Thursday. She was the elder sister of the late Khalida Riyasat. Khan, aged 76, was reportedly living alone at the time of her death.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by fellow artist Khaled Anam late last night, shortly after initial reports surfaced suggesting that Khan body was discovered almost 7 days after her death.
“With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of legendary Pakistani performer Ayesha Khan this June 2025,” Anam stated in a social media post. “May the Almighty bless her soul, raise her status in Paradise, and give strength to her loved ones and admirers to bear this loss.”

According to media reports, the neighbors alerted the authorities after a strong stench began emerging from her home. Police officials arrived shortly and found her remains. The late actress bosy was then transported to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal and medical examination. Later police shifted the body to the Edhi Foundation morgue in Sohrab Goth.

Police have begun questioning neighbours and relatives as part of the investigation.
Born in 1948, Ayesha Khan was celebrated for her unforgettable roles in classic PTV dramas such as Afshan, Aroosa, Aanch, Bandhan, and Shaam Se Pehle, leaving behind a rich legacy in Pakistani television. The loss of Ayesha Khan marks the end of an era for PTV drama lovers across generations.
