ISLAMABAD: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) took the step of shutting down Motorway M-2 and M-3 due to dense fog.
According to a spokesperson for the Motorway police, sections including M2 from Thokar Niaz to Khanqah Dogran and M3 from Faizpur to Nankana Sahib were closed off to general traffic due to the foggy conditions.
Travelers were strongly advised to use both front and rear fog lights to ensure safety and were encouraged to opt for daytime travel during foggy seasons to minimize risks.
Previously, the Lahore-Multan Motorway and other segments were also closed for traffic on early Monday morning due to dense fog.
Specifically, areas from Faizpur to Jarhanwala on the Lahore-Multan route and the Lahore motorway from Lahore to Sambrial were closed due to heavy fog, as detailed by the spokesperson. They emphasized the importance of using fog lights while driving in such weather conditions.
The NH&MP advised the public to maintain greater distances between vehicles and to seek guidance from the helpline 130 before commencing any journey.

- Possess valid identification documents for yourself, your attorney, and any witnesses (CNIC/NICOP/POC).
- Maintain a valid email address, contact number, and mailing address outside Pakistan.
- Collect biometric data (fingerprints) for yourself and two witnesses and proceed with a seamless online payment using a credit or debit card.
- Scan a copy of the original PoA, complete with signatures, thumb impressions, and your photograph.
- Accurate details for your attorney and witnesses are essential.
