ISLAMABAD: Senator of Awami National Party Omar Farooq claimed that PML-N had approved the name of the caretaker prime minister following a deal about the upcoming government.
ANP Senator asserted that there seemed to be an understanding regarding the upcoming tenure. He suggested that PML-N had compromised on the selection of the caretaker prime minister.
He also speculated that files against Pakistan People’s Party leaders might be reopened during the interim setup. He, nonetheless, believed that PML-N would remain unhurt.
Furthermore, he claimed that PML-N aimed to extend the interim setup until the return of Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan. ANP Senator disclosed this in his interview to ARY TV.
ANP lawmaker criticized PML-N for making decisions that went against democracy and the interests of the masses just for returning to power. Instead of participating in the PDM government, they should have opposed such a government at that time.
Senator Farooq emphasized that the fate of the ANP would mirror the current predicament of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. It will be driven by certain parties’ hunger for power. It can lead to secretive agreements that ultimately undermine the Parliament’s strength.
Furthermore, ANP’s leader contended that the PDM government had achieved nothing for the people in the past 16 months.

Special Court Judge hearing Cipher case goes on one week leave
Meanwhile, Special Court Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain has suddenly taken one week leave. He was hearing the Cipher case bail pleas of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
The PTI’s legal team, consisting of counsels Babar Awan, Salman Safdar, and Naeem Haider Panjotha, reach the court just to discover that Judge Zulqarnain was on leave.
PTI Lawyer Salman Safdar requested the court staff to schedule the case hearing for Thursday.

The PTI’s legal team approached Judge Raja Javad Abbas and asked him to consider hearing the bail plea.
The judge responded by stating that he couldn’t hear the case as he wasn’t the duty judge.
Judge Abbas remarked, “There is no notification designating me as the duty judge for the Official Secrets Act. If the Islamabad High Court assigns it to me, I can proceed.”
Lawyer Awan suggested submitting an application and seeking a hearing in the IHC for the bail pleas.
Judge Abbas agreed with Awan’s proposal, stating that the IHC would make the final decision.
