Fake post of a cross-border love affair: Police arrest A young man from Bajaur

ISLAMABAD: Police arrested a young man from Bajaur for making a fake post on social media. In the social media post, he claimed that a British girl had come to be with a man of her choice in Salarzai.

The man, Muhammad Gulab, posted about a British woman named Ela’s supposed arrival. However, the post turned out to be a prank.

Upon seeing the post, the police took swift action and provided security to the woman as a precaution. However, upon reaching the mentioned house, they found no one matching the description.

In response to this incident, the police filed a First Information Report (FIR) and promptly arrested Muhammad Gulab.

The arrest sparked a strong reaction from the local community. The locals argued that police officials should seek approval from their superiors before taking such actions.

They emphasized that social media posts are often made in jest. Hence, it is essential for local representatives to be consulted before making any arrests.

The trend of women finding love across borders came into the limelight with Seema Haider’s story. Seema left her children behind and moved to India to be with a man named Sachin. She met her on the PUBG platform and embraced Hinduism. Indian authorities cleared her of espionage charges.

Reports initially claimed that she married Nasrullah and converted to Islam.

Following this, a Chinese woman named Gao Fand entered Pakistan to marry Javed from Lower Dir. Fang converted to Islam and adopted Kiswa as her Islamic name. The KP police provided her with security.
