Blackmailing
PESHAWAR/ISLAMABAD: On Saturday, the police in Peshawar apprehended a young lady for blackmailing and extorting money from high-ranking government officials.
According to SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Ahmed Abbasi, the alleged blackmailer, Uzma, aged 32, adopted the guise of a doctor. She initiated interactions with government officials through mobile phone communications.
Subsequently, she is alleged to have extorted money and various luxury items from the officials she ensnared in her web.
SSP Abbasi further revealed that Uzma, hailing from Haripur in KP, had ensnared a director of the Healthcare Commission the previous month. She demanded two high-value mobile phones in addition to a sum of Rs1.8 million from him.

The HC Director lodged a complaint with the police against the blackmailing of Uzman.
Moreover, police disclosed that 12 FIRs had been registered against her. Uzma is also suspected of extracting money from over two dozen government officials. She extorted money from assistant commissioners, deputy commissioners, and police personnel.
SSP Abbasi emphasized that this accused individual had been involved in such activities for a decade. He said some FIRs had previously been lodged against her in Rahim Yar Khan and Multan in Punjab.
