Section 144 Enforced in Several KP Districts
ISLAMABAD: Authorities have imposed Section 144 in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) amid security concerns and law and order issues.
According to official notifications, the restrictions cover districts across Dera Ismail Khan Division, including Tank, Upper South Waziristan and Lower South Waziristan.
The measures limit public movement and the movement of different types of vehicles on designated routes.
Vehicle Restrictions in Lower South Waziristan
In Lower South Waziristan, authorities have prohibited the movement of loader rickshaws, single- and double-cabin cargo vehicles, Shehzores, Mazda trucks, Suzuki loaders and dumpers in Wana and Azam Warsak.
The restrictions took effect at 9pm on October 1 and will remain in force until 9pm on October 10.
Restrictions in Upper South Waziristan
Authorities in Upper South Waziristan have also restricted the movement of loader rickshaws and several types of commercial vehicles.
The ban covers cargo vehicles, Shehzores, Mazda trucks, Suzuki loaders, tractor-trolleys and dumpers.
These restrictions will remain in place from October 3 to October 5.
Road Restrictions in Dera Ismail Khan
In Dera Ismail Khan, restrictions have been imposed on Tank Road, Kulachi, Hathala, Kot Atal, Garh Abdullah and several connecting roads.
The restrictions will apply daily from 6am to 6pm between October 4 and October 6.
Authorities have also ordered the closure of Potta Hathala Bazaar during this period.
Movement Restrictions in Tank
In Tank district, authorities have restricted the movement of people, passenger vehicles, cargo vehicles and motorcycles along several routes.
The restrictions will take effect at 9pm on October 3 and remain in place until noon on October 5.
Exemptions and Legal Action
Movement by law enforcement agencies, emergency services and security forces may be permitted with official authorisation.
Authorities have warned that violations of Section 144 will result in legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
