A devastating fire broke out in a chemical factory located in Ajman, a city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), causing injuries to at least nine individuals of Pakistani origin. The incident occurred on Saturday, and the Pakistani consulate in Dubai has been actively involved in managing the aftermath.
The factory in Ajman specializes in producing chemicals used in the manufacturing of perfumes and sanitizers. As a result of the fire, nine Pakistani workers were confirmed to be injured in the incident. These individuals, whose names have not been disclosed, were expeditiously transported to hospitals in Ajman, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi for medical attention. Thankfully, all of them are reported to be in the process of recovery.
The injured workers hail from Shaheed Benazirabad and Dera Ghazi Khan, regions in Pakistan. The UAE is home to a substantial number of Pakistani expatriates, with around 1.5 million workers contributing significantly to the country’s economy through remittances. The Pakistani consulate in Dubai has taken swift action to provide assistance to the affected individuals. The Consul General stated, “We are ensuring all possible assistance to the injured Pakistanis,” emphasizing their commitment to supporting the victims and their families during this challenging time.
