Property Prices Crash
PESHAWAR/ISLAMABAD: Property prices and house rents crashed in Peshawar as Afghan nationals started selling their properties.
On Thursday, the first batch of more than 350 Afghan nationals was sent back to Afghanistan.
More illegal Afghan nationals are being expelled from Pakistan in the coming days. This process has triggered the selling of Afghan nationals’ belongings before returning to Afghanistan.
This exodus has led to a reduction in real estate prices and a decrease in house rents in various cities across KP.
It’s worth noting that the caretaker government of KP has established committees to conduct geofencing of businesses owned by Afghan nationals and identify Afghan nationals residing in the country illegally.
Meanwhile, in a meeting in Karachi, the army chief and other senior officials vowed to expel illegal Afghan citizens.
Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir received a briefing on the “repatriation of illegal foreigners” and other issues at a Provincial Apex Committee meeting.
