The annual matriculation results for all educational boards in Punjab will be announced simultaneously on July 24, 2025, according to official sources. The decision was finalized during a meeting of the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC) held on June 14, 2025.

This synchronization of result announcements across the province reflects ongoing efforts to maintain uniformity and transparency in the educational system. However, this year’s results have faced delays due to incomplete paper marking, impacting the usual result processing timeline.

Marking Delays Behind Postponement

Sources indicate that the delay was mainly caused by the incomplete marking of examination papers, particularly in some districts where evaluators were either unavailable or paper evaluation processes were slowed due to administrative constraints. The issue had raised concerns among students and parents, who were expecting results by early July.

Education board officials assured that measures are being taken to expedite the marking process, and that the results will be finalized and published by July 24. The boards are coordinating with examiners and school administrators to complete the pending work within the next few weeks.

PBCC Confirms Uniform Result Announcement

The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC), comprising heads of all nine educational boards in the province, emphasized that the synchronized announcement date is aimed at ensuring fairness and minimizing confusion among students applying for intermediate admissions.

The unified date will help colleges plan for first-year admissions more efficiently and allow educational institutions to align their schedules accordingly. This decision applies to all boards, including BISE Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, and Sahiwal.

HSSC Part-I Exam Cancelled by BISE Rawalpindi

In a separate development, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi announced the cancellation of the HSSC Part-I History of Islam paper, following complaints from students regarding out-of-syllabus questions.

According to board officials, students appearing in the History of Islam paper on June 13, 2025, reported that multiple questions did not align with the curriculum provided by the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board. Concerned students raised the issue with examination staff, prompting an immediate review.

BISE Lahore Reschedules Postponed Inter Exams for June 16

After confirming the claims through examiners and supervisors, BISE Rawalpindi decided to cancel the paper in the interest of maintaining academic integrity and fairness.

Rescheduled Paper to Be Held on June 17

The board has announced that the rescheduled History of Islam exam will be conducted on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in the first group session. Students will appear at the same examination centers and under the same roll numbers as before.

This prompt response by the board has been appreciated by many students and teachers, who called it a responsible decision to protect the students’ academic record and future.

Mixed Reactions from Students and Parents

While the rescheduling of the paper was largely welcomed, some students expressed concern over the short notice, saying it left them with limited time to prepare again. Parents have also urged education boards to review question papers more rigorously before exams to avoid such incidents in the future.

Educational analysts have emphasized the need for greater oversight in paper setting and evaluation, especially given the high stakes involved in intermediate and matriculation examinations, which serve as gateways to higher education.

Education Boards Under Pressure to Deliver

With the academic calendar already under stress due to holidays and exam delays earlier in the year, Punjab’s educational boards are now under pressure to deliver results and conduct remaining exams on schedule.

Officials from the Punjab Education Department confirmed that they are closely monitoring the situation and have instructed all boards to avoid further disruptions and prioritize accuracy and transparency in the examination process.
